To me quick-saving is damn near essential as I just don't have many solid blocks of time to devote to game playing and so I am inevitably interrupted or potentially have to stop in between check-points. So there seems to be discussion in a few game specific threads here about quick-saving (or the lack thereof) and thought it might be better to have a separate thread to discuss.
